A Haunting

& to pivot my neck
& to kiss again lips
unbuttoned an inch
& visited just once –

just briefest of – not
enough to keep her
at a critical distance
& such was our way

together that losses
have mounted under
years of recollection
of a shared latitude –

but your lust haunts
Go on a ghost hunt
in your family tree –
see other such falls

& only then find me
to blame for my old
urge to even scores
set by kissed ways –

& especially those –
especially those of
lovers who should
not have been ours
