About Mike Bell

Mike Bell writes one poem every day - one a day since 5th November 2015 www.mikebellpoems.com

Retiring

Has anyone noticed,
you won’t get a pension?
A promise Osborne
fails to mention.

But no need to worry
’bout the little man:
Retired, he’ll onshore
his own pension plan.

It Was..

Old friend, you are now aged fifty-two,
a wonderful place to embrace the view:
A whole (long) year ahead of me,
For just a month (in honesty)..

Taxman

Each daily verse
takes an hour of my life:

Posted poems,
tax-receipted time.

This one is brief,
but like any return,

Counts out time,
in this life-burnt.
