I am offended

I am offended by idling
cars beside McDonalds
& in driveways [rumble
of diesel – or petrol – as
floated fumes drift out
of exhaust pipes] – Ego
& arrogance command
our roads – give way to
those in killing devices
as they burn rubber – I
will let out a breath [of
relief] when they have
sped off tall cliff edges
& end up idled in tides
