Nothing will disappoint

How did I get here? Here
not recognised now as a
stellar moment in a love
of mistimings –
so do not

ask questions ‘bout how
we do [no one knows] –
I
lie alone –
I will roll & not
disturb another’s sleep –

This is it? A teacher said –
don’t demand purities &
nothing will disappoint –
We can strive ‘til debts &

joys nullify –
we can seek
a happiness in mortgage
repayments [rates’ll up –
enjoy luxuries later] –
we

will live chained to a dull
payment plan over a life
of rented parts –
Look to
our debt in playing cards
