Redacted Vows
This ripped-up body
of our scarred marriage
can still live – even now
by each reducing breath
of old vows and love
if we do not talk
if we do not scream
mis-weighted words
but instead stick
to honesty on paper
Such measured prints
can be re-scaled
through that rare craft
of self-censorship –
it will take time to bide
