Relegated

Relegated, reduced,
to a half-size man;
me, wrenched-doubled,
over the pan:

I can still function,
albeit at some cost,
but the future is broken,
full stature now lost:

Ill-company offered,
now DX-altered,
by illness, unseen,
dopamine-slaughtered:

True diagnosis,
off thin slice of brain,
our minds then admired,
pathology’s gain.
