The Missing
Sucked air to stillness,
Life hoovered-rooms,
Settled-down hallways,
A vacuum in gloom:
In repose, our stifled,
Slumped reaction,
We partitioned ourselves,
Finding distraction,
With screens and sleep,
Mine the latter,
Offsetting the thoughts,
‘Bout the missing,
which matters.
