We summon our sour ghosts
from recall’s shades –
talking
up those dark side games –
a
spook’s call to wake chases &
takes us down –
in time this’ll
pass –
in time our past is left –
we walk a picture-hung hall &
do not look at those portraits
[in case they turn to consider
what truth we are walking to]
& then we are here –
