Jupiter & Io [by da Correggio’s
brush] – opulence by artists as
they caught two-faced states –
Aristophanes pulled at a myth
deluding lonely souls – Io lives
her needy life bound to others
[not saying what she desires] –
whilst endlessly stung by a fly
sent by that vengeful Hera – Io
wanders between stories told
by angry lovers & those who’ll
not settle ancient debts of lust
