My neck cricked as we kissed
in my car – I was still in drive &
did not allow for such stuff as
I pulled up to drop you at your
house – my foot hard (against
my brake pedal) – although I’d
hoped for something on those
lines – a longed-for long kiss &
embrace (but without a crick) –
& then goodbyes – still in drive
