We keep company with
stone-marked bones in
a tricksy churchyard – a
mason’s art pleasured –
fonts aligned by tools &
eye – all care-worn bios
& brief lives in lines – In
a yew tree [rooted hard
before Christ’s Nativity
it says on a sign] rooks
exchange complaints &
calls – We will move on
[it is ever assured] – see
each beloved left alone
