Poem #2,864 | Cross of St George

As if ramparts – instead lamp posts
up from Seaford’s centre – a Cross
of St George – as if English – hangs
with a Made in China label weight –
From every pole that (forlorn) poke
at those wokethose not from our
land – They speak for white-ness &
pride – as if for us – as they hang a
flapping gesture to those in power
[as if to get a salute as a response]
